Summer is finally coming to an end and fall is upon us. I hope you had plenty of time in the sun because it looks like the rain is finally back. Here are five fantastic returning shows you can cuddle up with during these cooler days and nights. So grab some snacks, blankets and your PSL or pumpkin beer and enjoy some quality television.

This Is Us
Break out your Kleenex because This Is Us is back on NBC September 26th. Last year, The Pearsons and the Big Three nestled their way into our hearts and did not let go. There are plenty of highs, lows, smiles and tears throughout the amazing story of this beautiful family. Season two is meant to pick up the morning after season one’s cliffhanger ending. I’m sure we can expect to see many of our own life’s struggles and triumphs in the new season of This Is Us.

Scandal
On October 5th, the final season of Scandal will air on ABC. For six seasons we have followed the intense career of Olivia Pope, the gladiators at Olivia Pope & Associates (OPA) and the White House staff. As season seven begins, we know that Olivia has left OPA and started a new position as Chief of Staff for President Mellie Grant. Whatever happens, the show’s creator, head writer and executive producer Shonda Rhimes has promised that this final season will leave nothing on the table.

Mr. Robot
When you try to shut down one of the most powerful conglomerates in the world, you must expect some consequences. In the season two finale of Mr. Robot, Elliot had been shot, E Corp was clawing their way back into power and the FBI and the Dark Army were closing in on fsociety. It is safe to assume that season three will reveal even more twists, turns and revelations. In Mr. Robot, nothing is ever what it seems. The deeper you go you cannot help but question what is real, what is not, who is in control and who is not. Season Three will air October 11th on USA.

Stranger Things
It seems like an eternity since we last saw Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will and everyone else in Hawkins, Indiana. On October 27th, nerds and mouth breathers alike will rejoice when season two of Stranger Things is released on Netflix.  This season will take place near Halloween and will focus primarily on the Hawkins residents’ attempt to return to normalcy. But, with Will suffering from some sort of PTSD from the Upside Down and the massive monster haunting the previews, it is clear there is plenty of terror still brewing in this small town.

The Walking Dead
In each season of The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes and his people face evil. Negan in the last season was the worst, worse than the Terminus cannibals! In season eight, Rick will join forces with the Hilltop and the Kingdom to battle Negan in an all-out war. Similarly to Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead kills off main characters regularly and brutally. I am still not over Glenn and Abraham dying in the season seven opener. Let’s hope Rick and his friends can triumph and finally find some long lasting peace. Season eight will air October 22nd on AMC.
