Relaxing with Summer Shows

Do you feel like vegging out a few hours a day for the rest of the summer? Here are a few new and returning shows that will entertain you when you are in need of some serious down time. Enjoy.

Mr. Robot
Elliot Alderson is a cyber security engineer by day, computer hacker by night. Throw in a little paranoid schizophrenia and clinical depression and you get a better understanding of who Elliot is. In the first season of Mr. Robot, Elliot and hacker group, society, brought down one of the biggest corporations in the world. And now, Mr. Robot is back. There are so many questions that need answering. Will they be answered or will the audience only be pulled further into Elliot’s unraveling mind? If you are a fan of movies like American Psycho, The Matrix and A Clockwork Orange, you will love Mr. Robot. The season premieres July 13th on USA.

Ballers
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson returns as Spencer Strasmore for the second season of Ballers. This Entourage like series follows the glamorous and always complicated lives of NFL superstars. Spencer is a retired NFL player turned financial advisor. He is keen on signing and mentoring his younger friends who remain in the league. The first season is chalk full of million dollar deals, flashy cars, beautiful women, setbacks and scandals. All in a day’s work right? See what Spencer and everyone else is up to in the new season premiering July 17th on HBO.

Vice Principals
Perhaps if you’ve seen one Danny McBride movie or show, you’ve seen them all. But this doesn’t mean he isn’t wildly entertaining to watch. Finally, Eastbound & Down fans can fill that Kenny Powers void in their hearts with Vice Principals. This summer, Danny McBride and Walton Goggins will be in a vicious and epic race. The prize is a chance to be the most powerful being in the school, the principal. But when a new comer clenches the title from them, the two vice principals must team up to bring the newly elected principal down and show some serious school spirit. Vice Principals will premiere July 17th on HBO.

Running Wild with Bear Grylls
Bear Grylls is always up to something insane that is comforting to watch from the safety of our couches. But what if he brought normal people along for the ride? Better yet, what if he brought celebrities along? This is the premise of Running Wild with Bear Grylls. In the past, Bear has brought along guests like Kate Hudson, Ed Helms, Kate Winslet and even President Barack Obama to share the wilderness with him for 48 hours. Now plunging into the 3rd season, I’m sure Bear has some exciting places to visit with a few great guests. Running Wild with Bear Grylls will premier August 1st on NBC.
*No preview of Season 3 is available yet. Please enjoy this clip of Bear and Drew Brees capturing a crocodile for dinner.
