The Greatest Love of All: Valentine’s Day Menu Specials

If you haven’t booked your dinner plans yet, you are late to cupid’s beautiful sap fest. But purveyors of love and good food, fear not. There are still some reservations left. Avoid getting stuck cooking chicken parm at home again and find a Valentine’s Day option that tickles your fancy. Here are my picks for foodies and fun lovers:

Tilth
For pairs with a conscious palate, Tilth’s Valentine’s Day pre-fixe is for you. Cuisine is prepared with certified-organic or wild ingredients. Chef Maria Hines emphasizes the importance of community and the intent behind Tilth is to serve food that makes diners feel comfortable. The Valentine’s Day pre-fixe includes four courses with three different options for each course. Options include Seared St. Jude’s Albacore Tuna with maitake, fennel, blood orange and Porcini Ash-Crusted Venison with swiss chard, anson mills corn polenta, and saskatoon berry. $80 per person and optional $40 wine pairing or $60 sommelier pairing.

Stateside
Stateside made waves on the dining scene all through 2015 and couples that haven’t made it here yet can sample their finest on Valentine’s Day. Options like fresh picked Dungeness crab cake on crushed avocado, black trumpet mushrooms, Tianjin preserved vegetable mayonnaise, plus pomelo, and soy glazed short rib, celery root purée, with sesame-green apple salad will be hard to resist. $70 per person, and optional wine pairing $30 per person. Vegetarian options will be available.

Knee High Stocking Co
The hidden doors of this speakeasy style hot spot will be offering a farm-to-table dinner for 2 on Valentine’s Day. Start with a wild mushroom salad and herb salad followed by a Za’atar Salmon or Harissa Spiced Lamb served with cous cous, rainbow carrots, watercress, and creamy Tzatziki. The meal includes a post-dinner digestif and wraps up with an Absinthe Panacotta topped with candied kumquats doused in shaved dark chocolate. $79 per person.

Maximillen
The French know romance panoramic views of Maximillen will inevitably attract lovers this Valentine’s Day. Their multi course Valentine’s Day pre-fixe menu is just as impressive as the scenery. It includes marvels like the Foie Gras crème brûlée with dried apricots and a port wine reduction followed by pan seared diver scallop, demi lobster tail, potato blini, baby greens and a Brandy-tarragon sauce. $100 per person. Tickets can be purchased here.

Pearl
A sexy Eastside favorite, guests at Pearl can expect local ingredients and service from a knowledgeable, attentive staff. Not feeling the pre-fixe menus? Pearl is offering specials rather than pre-fixe. All Valentine’s Day weekend choose from items like Caviar with latke and crème fraiche, Lobster Risotto with lemon tarragon cream and fresh asparagus, or go all out and get the Lobster Dinner with a full tail poached in butter, tastefully garnished with tomato-herb butter sauce, then served over mashed potatoes.
