107.7 Deck the Hall Ball 2015

107.7 Deck the Hall Ball 2015
On December 8th, the annual Deck the Hall Ball will commence in Key Arena. Since 1992, this winter themed concert has delivered some of the best bands from a range of genres that are sure to get you in the holiday mood and spread some “singing-along” cheer. Over the years groups like Everclear, Radiohead, Moby, Blink 182, Coheed & Cambria, Gnarls Barkley, the Shins and many more have blessed Seattle with their presence. More than ten years ago, I attended Deck the Hall Ball to see Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Keane and Snow Patrol. It was the first time I ever lost myself in live music. This year, Deck the Hall Ball continues its stellar reputation for great music and artists with yet another incredible lineup. 3:00 PM: Deep Sea Diver Deep Sea Diver’s front woman, Jessica Dobson,...

How to Wear Marsala
Who says we have to live in dark dreary winter colors? Liven up your wardrobe with the hot color of the season: marsala! Now before you shy away from the idea of wearing a bold hue in this cold weather, you've got to see the top ways to add it into your looks. We’ve got a few choices for you to pick from. Denim is an easy way to add color to your look, it can easily be paired with cozy solid knits and embellished with jewels. You can also accent your outfits with a wool coat. ‘Tis the season for top knots, faux fringe, nude and bold lips, heavily lined eyes, and effortless plays on classic looks. We have created a winter collection of styles that could easily be brought to life this season that could be your next look for all those holiday parties and gatherings. Along with our winter collection, many celebrities showed off some of our favorite looks at the 2015 American Music Awards. J. Lo showed us the top knot with not only one, but two completely different looks. She displayed a classic french twist to show off her neck line in the beautiful Costello gown with a gorgeous bold red lip and gorgeous soft curls for a more natural look with a beautiful smokey eye. Demi Lovato took it back to a more classic vibe, mixing in a modern version of the 1920's finger ...

Escape Seattle: Jamaica

Escape Seattle: Jamaica
Seattle in the winter can be tough. For those of us with any sense, it’s time to pack up, ditch the traffic, and cash in your vacation hours to rejuvenate at the beach. But which one? After recently returning from the Caribbean, I would like to recommend Jamaica. Jamaica is home to the world’s fastest man: Usain Bolt, the world’s best rum: Appleton, and the world’s best reggae, including the legend himself: Bob Marley. The island is nothing short of a spicy cultural paradise. Eat the local street food like cheese patties (dough stuffed with beef and cheese), jerk chicken and curried goat. Drink Magnum (tonic wine), Appleton, and whatever once-off special the bartender is slanging by the pool. Where you stay is conducive to what you will do, but regardless of where you are on this magical island, you’ll...

Holiday Table Breakdown

Holiday Table Breakdown
Thanksgiving weekend has come to a close, officially declaring the start of the holiday season! For an easy and stress free dinner party season, I’m breaking down the meat and potatoes of your holiday event…the table setting. As creatures of habit, yearly, we succumb to the same decorations, color palette and dishes; this year I’m challenging you to try something unique, eclectic, and dare I say…trendy? Spice things up this year by adding dramatic and unique winter trends to your traditional seasonal décor, such as: faux fur, sparkle, natural elements, raw wood, and a less is more approach. Add warmth to your living room by using faux fur throws on your leather armchairs. Add dramatic touches by using silver glitter candles or shiny animal figurines on your coffee table. These holiday trends can easily translate into your traditional table setting...
