Five of the Best Halloween Happenings in Seattle


Halloween is just around the corner. Do you embrace this holiday with spectacular costumes and decorations or are you the kind of person who decides to be a cat for the 3rd year in a row and passes out toothbrushes to trick-or-treaters? Whether you are obsessed with Halloween or completely indifferent, these five events in Seattle featuring cocktails, Dracula, zombies and much more are sure to get you in the Halloween spirit.

Burke NiteLife: Creepy-Crawly Cocktails
On October 20th, head to the Burke Museum for an up close and personal look at their massive collection of bugs, reptiles and more, all while chasing your fears and fascinations with delicious cocktails. Observe a variety of deceased critters preserved in jars as well as live ones that crawl and slither. Plenty of experts will be on-site to answer all your questions regarding the collection. Admission is $15 and includes two drink tickets.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula on Stage
Bram Stoker’s Dracula was one of the first works of vampire literature. This brilliant and haunting story introduced the world to the terror of Count Dracula while establishing many ideas of vampire fantasy. Until October 22nd, you have the chance to watch Steven Dietz’s stage adaptation of this classic good versus evil tale at the Wade James Theatre in Edmonds. Tickets are only $20. Don’t forget your stakes and garlic!

Halloween Pub Crawl
On Thursday, October 26th the streets of Capitol Hill will be crawling with zombies instead of hipsters. So trade in that Buffalo Exchange flannel for an old shirt smeared with fake blood and join the Zombie Crawl! Zombies will meet at Redhook Brewlab at 6pm for the kick-off party, satisfy their cravings for flesh and brains at participating zombie stops from 7 to 9pm and then wrap up the night with zombie trivia at Grim’s. This event is free and should not be missed!

Shadows: Toro Y Moi (DJ Set) and Sango with Romaro Franceswa, Qreepz, Chong The Nomad
Head to the Neptune Theatre on October 28th for the return of Shadows. This Halloween celebration will feature DJ sets and live performances from Toro Y Moi, Sango, Romaro Franceswa, Qreepz and Chong The Nomad. Get ready to experience a combination of fantastic beats and spooky imagery as you dive head first into the shadows of this dark holiday. Tickets are $43.50.

Georgetown Morgue
Are you in the market for a good scare?  Then the haunted house at Georgetown Morgue is the perfect place for you. The morgue has a long and extensive history that is as terrifying as it is questionable. But whether you believe the horror stories or not, this haunted house is creepy AF and is guaranteed to have you screaming. The morgue is open until November 4th and General admission is $23. Enter if you dare.
