Seattle Concerts: The Hottest Names Coming In August


This summer has been a big one for Washington concerts. Headlining names like John Mayer, Bruno Mars, Russ, Khalid, Slightly Stoopid, and more have all headed up to the Pacific Northwest to bless the evergreen state with their presence. 

If you think that you have missed out, there is some good news. Seattle summer concerts are far from over. Washington – finally – has that much anticipated blazing summer heat, and there is not a better way to spend it than enjoying live music this August.

Kendrick Lamar: The DAMN. Tour with Travis Scott & D.R.A.M., August 1st @ Tacoma Dome
If you listen to rap, you know Kendrick Lamar. The American rapper is stopping by Tacoma to promote his fourth album, DAMN. You may know some singles off the album like “HUMBLE,” “DNA,” and “FEAR.” Joining Lamar on tour are two of his friends, Travis Scott and D.R.A.M.

Lady Gaga: Joanne World Tour, August 5th @ Tacoma Dome
Lady Gaga is a household name in the pop world, and if you don’t know of her, where have you been? Lady G is stepping away from her disco pop bangers, and letting the world see a different side of her. Joanne, named after her late aunt, is easily her most personal album to date.

Metallica: The WorldWired Tour with Avenged Sevenfold & Gojira, August 9th @ Century Link Field
Don’t think I forgot about all the heavy metal heads in Washington. This one is for you! Metallica brings the WorldWired Tour to Seattle, and if you haven’t had a chance to see them since they debuted in 1981, now is your chance!

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, August 19th @ Safeco Field
Don’t back down from this opportunity! Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers are coming to Safeco field. You may know some of their hits, “Free Fallin’,” “I Won’t Back Down,” and “Don’t Do Me Like That.”

Bryson Tiller with H.E.R. and Metro Boomin, August 19th @ WaMu Theater
If you are in the mood for some slow-burning R&B that’ll surely get you all up in the feels, you have to see Bryon Tiller. The singer recently released his second album, True To Self, in May of 2017.

The 2017 Honda Civic Tour Featuring OneRepublic, Fitz and The Tantrums & James Arthur, August 22nd @ White River Amphitheatre
Don’t apologize for missing out on this concert, because you still have plenty of time to get tickets for the 2017 Honda Civic Tour. OneRepublic is headlining, and this is their first tour since the release of their album, Oh My My. According to Billboard, “in October, Tedder promised that fans [would] hear new songs ‘that do not even exist.’”

Bumbershoot 2017, September 1-3rd @ Seattle Center
I know it is technically not in August, but you cannot leave out one of North America’s largest and most loved festivals! Bumbershoot is back again, and the stacked lineup includes major names like Flume, Lorde, Odesza, Weezer, Big Sean, Dillon Francis, Die Antwoord, Gucci Mane, Flo Rida, Jauz, Zara Larsson, and so much more. Passes to the three-day festival are still available, make sure you get in on the fun. 

The seven events listed above is just a small glimpse into the abundance of upcoming concerts coming to Washington this August. Get outside, make memories, and enjoy the culture and vibes that live music produces. You won’t regret it.
