5 Cozy Date Night Ideas

Baby, it’s cold outside. But that doesn’t mean you can’t stay warm with bae and have fun this winter. Check out these 5 date night ideas for inspiration.

1. Glassblowing
Heat things up by taking a class together at Rainier Glass Studio. There are several tiers to choose from, but some of the one-of-a-kind items you could make include an ornament, glass flower, votive, concave bowl, martini glass or vase. There’s even an option to BYOB (blow your own bong). You start with a flaming chunk of gooey, molten glass that you then dip in color and return to the furnace. After, you roll it, blow it, twist and/or turn it as a taffy-like glob hardens into your shape of choice. Master glassblowers will help you through the whole process – no artistic skills are necessary!
Rainier Glass Studio, 6006 12th Ave S, Seattle; $95 -$145 for two.

2. Sky View Observatory
Gain a new perspective of the city with a trip to the highest public observatory in the PNW. See breathtaking, panoramic views of Mt. Rainier, Bellevue, the Cascade Mountains, Mt. Baker, Elliott Bay, the Olympic Mountains, the Space Needle and the Seattle skyline all in one spot, then grab a drink at the café onsite. Get tickets here
Columbia Center, 701 5th Ave, Seattle; $30 for two.

3. Truffle Making and Wine Tasting
Bring on the romance. This class teaches you about the origin of chocolate while you create yummy handmade truffles and sip on local wines. If you don’t want to get your hands dirty (AKA chocolaty), opt for the chocolate and wine tasting flight, which is a slightly cheaper option that still lets you sample the delicious flavors and learn about the world of cacao. Visit their site for more info
Chocolate Box, 106 Pine St, Seattle; $35-$156 for two.

4. Hot Tub Boat Rental

The name says it all – you are literally sitting in a steamy, 104 degree hot tub while simultaneously coasting along lake union. The specially engineered Hot Tub Boat is patent pending and carefully engineered for maximum stability, so no, you won’t sink even with 2,000+ pounds of water on board. You don’t even need a boater’s license to operate it (although one person does need a valid driver’s license). Rentals are available for 2, 3 or 4 hour time slots. Find more info here.
Hot Tub Boat Rentals, The AGC Building and Marina, 1200 Westlake Ave N, Seattle; $350 for two hours.
